The problem I reported several times before (check my back posts in this thread) about the endless running connection icon is back (it was solved in ROM 2.3) :-(
I hope this can be fixed again. If anyone knows a way to fix this right now, please drop me a note.

Hi Lorbas,
Yes, I went back to the 2.3 version linked here, and I have functional GSM. The Phone setting seemed to default to 900/1800 and I was able to switch it to 850/1900 and it stayed that way after exiting the Phone Settings. Once it was set to 850/1900 I was able to access the Rogers network again, and I have both GSM and GPRS/EDGE access.

Lorbas, in the previous posts, you can find 2 or 3 people that had this problem with ROM 2.2
After some hours trying to find out what can be wrong, I found that, in my case, it seems that the HomeScreen++ (aka. BatteryStatus plugin) is the guilt. If I disable it, the problem disappears. But, curiously, I had the same plugin running with ROM 2.3, with no problem at all.

I m using your new 2.4 rom since you have published it on the forum. I m very satisfied with it and it works quasi well, but I m faceing a little but very annoying problem.
When I'm speaking on the phone after 3-4 minutes the phone cuts the voice on the microphone and the speaker as well. The call does not drop and when I press the on/off button the voice comes back and I can continue the phone conversation.
did anybody experience this problem ? is there any solution ?
So thank you Lorbas for the new rom and keep up the good work.....!

Have you checked the simple things first like the power timeouts. I had the same problem after a previous ROM change and 'senior moment' until I realised that I had not changed them fro default.
Lorbas
I too started to get the endless running connection icon that other are too. I almost forgot it used to happen. Mine starts when I have been using my USB cable connection and internet explorer. If I pull out my cable to use GPRS, it keeps the old connection and the indication remains as if it is still connected via USB.
Just for info Lorbas, I re-installed the V2.4 version and the problem of the strange context menu size went away. It must have been one of my programs installed that caused it. Your start menu cab does work for me. I was going to post my reg fix but as it was just me and my stupidaty, I wont bother. I appolagise for not checking first.
Keep up the good work though, it is appreciated by all of us here on the Forum.

great to here that there is still work done on the x500+!! I just discovered.
I would like to use the home2 from www.pointui.com (I installed the free-version and it looks sooo good) . And the more RAM there is, the better. I guess the only solution is to install Lorbas custom ROM v2.4 (or v2.3?), right? No other way to get more RAM and memory I guess..
Before doing so I would like to ask, if afterwards it is still possible to go back to my original ROM OS 5.2.1616 (build 18120.0.4.0), which is the German main-version 032-543; in case that something does not fit with the cooked ROM..
It would help a lot also, if I could install NoData.cab, since I have no data flat... Does the problem still exist with this cab?
I think in general, GSM should not be a problem in germany with 900/1800, right?
Thanks a lot for your answers!
Kind regards,
Johannes

- Modaco NoData utility still doesn't run. Probably some conflict with .NET
- Not sure, but seems that it doesn't release as much RAM as 2.3 did (I mean, during the daily usage)
- I have the feeling that this version eats more battery than previous one...
Btw, I guess the Asynckiller utility is not necessary. The following "trick" works fine, and I guess it only change some stuff in the registry, so maybe Lorbas can included it by default on the next ROM: http://frommypocket....server-fix.aspx
Lorbas, thanks for keeping X500+ up to date!

Now - to my problem:) Of course there is one. I hope you or someone on this forum might be able to help.
I've just flashed mixxed rom 2.4 release and it looks like it can't connect to the network (i live in US and AT&t is my carrier).
i've tried to go into:
"start - programs-settings-phone-other tab" and manually changing Band from 9000/1800 to 850/1900 but it didn't work. Phone just doesn't save that setting and automatically reverts back to Auto mode. And it just doesn't connect to the network anyway.
Soft and hard resets didn't help so I had to revert to 2.3 release which works just wonderful.
Any ideas guys?
