Hi everyone.

I've just logged into this forum and first I have a small remarks for administrator :)/> In drop down list on registration page there is no X650 to choose. And I am almost happy owner of it ;)/>

My Glofiish X650 was bought in Netherlands and I think that this is a reason why the FM Transmitter was not installed on PDA. What's more, it is not available as an option.

Do u know how to instal it? Is available on web or maybe somebody has it.

At the momment PDA works goog. I was surprised how fast the GPS is (TomTom 6 installed).

That's frustrating. I think that such micro-powered transmitters are now permitted in many countries in Europe including the UK, providing they are CE marked. Unfortunately it seems that the legislation has to be approved by each individual country rather than being an EU-wide approval. I wonder what country/region model you have got ?

There is a company called ROHM who developed such specialist chips a few years ago. I have seen their chips in many similar devices, and almost certainly that is what ETEN have used.

I suspect that if it does not work, then the transmitter chip may have simply been omitted, so you might be stuck ;-(

I ordered and bought it in the Netherlands, but I think this kind of information should be included in the specification (which countries ban using FM Transmitter), because VGA screen and FM Trans were the main features why I've chosen X650. My fault is that I didn't check the Benelux law...

Nevertheles, PDA seems to be better quality than I expected and maybe after few months of using it I will have more pros and cons to stress.

Well I got the dutch one also.
I didn't find the fm transmitter neither, but I also have only static on the FM receiver.
Can you recieve any channel?

Hi guys.. Your FM transmitter chip is on its place. I've had the same problem with my x650 I bought in Ukraine. Upload this file, unzip it, install X600_FMTX-RUS_Patch.CAB then soft reset, then install FM_transmitter_rus.CAB. Thats it!

it deosn't work on mine either. I installed it, but when starting it it shows an error message in russian(I think) and thats it.

Installed both apps, but the FM transmitter app doesn't work. When I try to start it it says something like that no certificate is available or some parts are missing. Also, the app has no icon, which is strange.

No russian errors here though.

Sorry guys, I didn't test this on with another ROMs , but with my 258 Ukrainian ROM it works well.

Btw, the icon should appear in Programs => Multimedia folder.

are you telling about the fm tuner or de fm transmitter?
so the x650 nl does have a fm transmitter,but only needs the software?
is this true??

it seems that it's true :)/> imagine that there are at least two different production lines (it costs) where are assembled at least two different examples of the same X650 but one with and one without FM Transmitter Chip ... both of them should be tested separately ... costs, costs, costs ... forget :)/>
it's much easier remove one application from the ROM.

BTW I have noticed that FM Transmitter doesn't close where there are headphones pluged in ... try and tell whether it works .. (I have instaled it but haven't tested it because of lack of any MP3 on my memory card ... then I have removed it because I don't want such a application where headphones are needed)

Finally it work!! reading last post from plorenc i've made this simple consideration about the presence of headphones connected for made FM receiver working,when i've tried some days ago the fm transmitter the  headphones cable was'nt connected (i think the popup in russian language allert about it) so reinstall all package,plug in jack and the transmitter windows appear without any error  :bananaphone:/>
Is the same interface of receiver section with autoscan for easy search free frequency(i think) and broadcast start/stop button.
Playing something with media player the sound will come from headphones and after pushed start button stop listen from headphones and start broadcast on the radio frequency selected.
The signal transmitted is very weak so put the headphones wire very near to antenna receiver,on my phone also the volume of trasmission is little low but i think depend of mp3 files.

My firmware is 280 italian version but i think will work on other version too
